Cookin' Up Chicken!

Guess what? We actually have a terrific movie update today! It's not long, but I'd say it's definitely worth mentioning, so let's get started with that before pressing on to Joy's nonfiction article for this week.

Originally, JPIV (Jurassic Park IV) was scheduled for a release on June 13, 2014. But as many fans know, it turned out Universal Studios (the company producing the film) and the film's director, Colin Trevorrow realized that the film would be much more ambitious than originally planned. That meant the movie wouldn't be ready for its 2014 release and fans of the franchise would have to sit and twiddle their thumbs until we received more news about the movie. But that all changed September 10th, 2013! Universal Pictures officially confirmed not only a release date, but they double-treated JP fans to the film's new title: Jurassic World, which is being released on June 12, 2015!

The film's new title!
I don't know about any of you, but as a JP fan myself, I'm excited! We still don't know anything about the plot or appearing characters, but that hasn't stopped some people from guessing (see this article for the last bit of news I posted about JPIV). The title Jurassic World to me seems to suggest that we could indeed be seeing the original Jurassic Park (the park itself, not the movie) up and running. Many of the rumors surrounding the movie's plot speak of a Sea World-type area with marine reptiles (which many articles on JPIV have incorrectly referred to as “sea dinosaurs”), taming the dinosaurs, and a new-to-the-series predatory saurian that could easily threaten the very existence of the park. As I've pointed out in previous articles, Trevorrow has already confirmed that there won't be any taming and muzzling of dinosaurs (good, raptors and T. rex will be chasing people once again!), but I've notice he didn't say anything about the rumors about sea reptiles or about the park being opened to the public, so perhaps the movie will feature these ideas in the plot (also, notice how the background in the new logo for the film is blue rather than red like in the other films. Perhaps it's blue because they're suggesting part of the movie will take place with marine reptiles?). He's also confirmed the appearance of the “terrifying new dinosaur” in the movie. June 12, 2015 can't come soon enough for me!
Could these creepy dinosaurs with glowing eyes be the "terrifying new dinosaur" in Jurassic World?
By the way, having just discussed JPIV, I think now would be a good time to bring up another tidbit. I have been writing my own version of JPIV on the Fanfiction. Click this link to read whatI've written so far.

Now it's time to read Joy's latest article that she's written:
